Discouragement comes in many ways… unexpected and certainly unwelcome.
The hoped-for job is given to someone else.
The doctor’s diagnosis isn’t a clean bill of health.
The unexpected bill arrives and is more than you have in the bank.
Your family member lets you down…again.
You feel disconnected from your husband.
You feel like you are spinning your wheels and getting nowhere.
Discouragement changes things, doesn’t it?
Disappointment replaces the joy you thought you’d have after that job promotion…
Fear for your health takes on a new meaning…
Worry about paying that unexpected bill keeps you awake at night…
The hurt caused by your family member sends you into a spiral…
The disconnect with your husband actually feels “painful.”
But what if discouragement could change things for the better?
What if discouragement was met with a “new girl in town” attitude…an attitude that said, “bring it on!”
Is that even possible?!
I can tell you, my friend, it is possible. It is totally possible to stand up to discouragement and say, “Oh no you don’t.”
When my grandson was just a toddler, he started doing this cute and sassy thing where he would put his finger in the air, wave it at us, and say, “Oh no you didn’t.” But instead of being able to say the words, he would babble them, making it sound like “Oh, oh, U, didi.”
So. so. cute.
But aside from cute, I’m giving you permission to not only be a “new girl in town” when it comes to discouragement in your life, I’m encouraging you to be the sassiest girl in town.
Raise your finger, wave it in the face of discouragement, and say, “Oh no you don’t!”
“You don’t get to steal my joy over a job loss. There’s something better out there for me.”
“You don’t get to make me fearful over my health. My entire being is in God’s hands. He is my Healer.”
“You don’t get to cause worry over that unexpected bill. The Lord is “Jehovah-Jireh,” my Provider.”
“You don’t get to cause division between me and my loved ones any longer!”
Discouragement can change everything…for the better.
Are you feeling it, ladies? The toddler-like attitude that waves its hand and says, “Oh no you didn’t!”
Just in case you are NOT feeling it, and discouragement has you down and out, don’t worry. I’d like to offer you a free one-on-one 15-minute Skype or phone call with me. During that call, I promise to…
- listen
- pray
- offer whatever Biblical encouragement I can
- connect with you in a sincere way
That’s it. Nothing fancy, but definitely sincere.
So, if you are struggling with discouragement in your life, and it’s starting to get the best of you, let me come alongside you and be your support for a few minutes. I truly want to help you stand up to discouragement and not let it win.
Remember, my ministry here at Encouragement Mama is to write, speak, and live out encouragement to others. This is a place where discouragement doesn’t win!
Keep in mind…I do not have it all figured out. But! I know the ONE who does. And if I can be a prayer partner for you, a listening ear, or an encouraging voice, I want to do just that.
I got your back girl. And more importantly, God’s got your entire being in the palm of His hands.
Always an email away,
