And I Will Look Up

“Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation.”

(Psalm 5:1)

This is too hard, Lord.

This…everything.

At each turn, there seems to be another…

Obstacle.

It’s like the proverbial “straw” that breaks the camel’s back. The load is too heavy.

Yet…

You see it.

You know it.

Give ear to my words, My Gracious God and Redeemer.

Not only that, Lord, but please answer when I call.

Please.

For Your silence makes me worry and struggle and strive.

They say there are still answers in Your silence. I believe that too.

“Help Thou my unbelief.”

We long for that “knowing” Lord. The knowing that reminds our hearts it”s going to be…

Ok.

“And I will look up.”

(Psalm 5:3)

I will look up from what has me so focused…so distracted.

I will look up from selfish ambition and pride.

I will look up from these earthly treasures that consume.

“But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy;

In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.”

(Psalm 5:7)

Let Your house—Your presence—be the place we long for most.

Remind us that better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere!

Truly, it is.

Remind us of the privilege of being free to worship You!

Freedom that so many do not have…

Freedom to raise hands in Your Name

Freedom to call on Your Name

Freedom to proclaim Your Name!

Jesus.

“My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;

In the morning I will direct it to You…”

(Psalm 5:3)

This morning…and the next…and the next…

Here I am again. Here and now.

And I know You hear me.

Thank you.

I will remember You.

In the midst of life’s “hard.”

When the temptations to “go and do” and “do and go” almost…

Win.

But they won’t.

“For I will look up.”
